1 Day Paediatric Course
This course meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation statutory framework,
OFSTED, NCMA.
The paediatric course teaches learners to provide emergency care and first aid for children of all ages and infants of less than a year old.
On successful completion of this training course, candidates will be awarded a certificate in Paediatric First Aid.

Summary
Learners will be taught the skill necessary to be able to demonstrate the practical application of safe and
effective paediatric first aid in emergency situations.

Who is this qualification for ?
The paediatric first aid course is designed for professionals whose occupation
involves the care of infants or children.

Course Requirements
Learners will be required to complete theory and practical assessments.
Each learner will be evaluated by the trainer to ensure they meet the minimum standards to
complete the course or qualification.

Qualification Structure
This course covers how to help a baby or child who:

is unresponsive and breathing

is unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

is choking
-
is bleeding
-
is suffering from shock
-
is burnt or has a scald
-
is having a seizure.

Certification
​
Successful candidates will be awarded the Paediatric First Aid Certificate valid for 3 years
