Who would respond if a colleague became seriously unwell?
Your workplace needs assessment identifies who needs training. This course develops emergency first-aid knowledge and practical skills, with a maximum of 12 learners and at least six hours of learning.

- The role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing an emergency situation
- Unresponsive casualties and seizures
- CPR and automated external defibrillator awareness
- Choking, bleeding and shock
- Minor injuries and incident recording
How the course works
Learning & delivery
One day with a minimum of six hours of learning, for up to 12 learners. The course includes theory and practical assessment; the trainer evaluates each learner’s competence.
All PCT courses are delivered face to face.
Assessment & certification
The trainer assesses theory and practical competence. Successful learners receive an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years.
