What the course covers
- First-aider responsibilities, emergency assessment and getting appropriate help
- Workplace emergencies: unresponsive casualties, CPR, AED awareness and seizures
- Paediatric emergencies: recognising and responding to an unresponsive child
- Choking, bleeding and shock across the agreed age groups
- Practical learning, incident records and handover
How the course works
Learning & delivery
One day of face-to-face training, approximately six hours, combining workplace and paediatric emergency first-aid learning with practical assessment. The programme covers emergency assessment, response, incident recording and handover.
All PCT courses are delivered face to face.
Assessment & certification
The programme brings workplace and paediatric learning together with practical assessment. Successful learners receive PCT’s Emergency and Paediatric First Aid Training certificate, valid for three years.
