Safeguarding Children and Adult Courses

1 Days
|

Minimum 7 Hours
Safeguarding is every bodies responsibility, not just the statutory services that come into contact with children, vulnerable adults and families.
This 1 day course will be delivered by a mixture of didactic and trainee centred learning, with lots of exercises and relevant case studies for trainees to work through. The course will focus on recognising the signs of risks, the different types of abuse, communication, the legislation and policies around safeguarding and how to make a referral to appropriate services.

PCT are honoured to have the experience and expertise of Debbie Walker M.B.E. as their lead trainer. Debbie is a retired Police Inspector having worked in a large metropolitan police force with over 27 years operational experience, 20 of those years as an Inspector.

Debbie has extensive knowledge of safeguarding children and adults and has been responsible for reviewing evidence and deciding whether a child or adult was likely to suffer significant harm and in need of police protection. Debbie has signed and authorised Emergency Protection Orders on many occasions.
